If I talk
about the places I have ever visited which was the best, nearest, and
memorable? Is the place which I am going to tell you today? I am sure many of
you don’t know this place and even if you know you forgot this place. The place
consists of gulch of pure water coming from many springs and glacier passing
through different villages who utilize this water for irrigation and drinking. The
place is right at the feet of mountains across the gulch the province in
changed one side is Punjab and other in KPK. For Islamabadian this place is at
walking distance even some people came back from near the spot because they don’t
know that there is a precious place for swim and adventure.
I use to
hang out there with my friends many times sometimes we use to cook there as
well the place is peaceful, lonely, beautiful, nearest, adventurous and best forever.
There are species of small fish and crab on the way you may find monkeys. There
is a small village and mosque right at the top of gulch. It’s good to swim
there in noon because water is colder not that much but surely you can enjoy
sitting on hot stone after swim in cold water. At a time not more than five people
will swim due to small space which is not a big issue.
The village
around the spot is called “Gokeena” and the place is right at the left slop of
Peer Sohawa the right slop consists of Saidpur village and Islamabad city, from
the road you can see the gulch from the top to bottom. There is road leading to
the exact point you can go there by feet or by vehicle but, remember there is
too much slop while you drive towards the spot and too much height while you
turning back towards Peer Sohawa so, make sure you can drive well. The
villagers are too much cooperative if you ask them for little help like
gathering dry wooden and cooking item they help you out without hesitation.
They welcome you to visit their place but they don’t like too much shouting and
dirtying the environment without any reason.
I suggest
every foreigner who took flights to Islamabad and took stay in city
specially who got the place in F-6, F-7, F-8, F-10 and E-7. They can plan hiking
tour early in the morning it hardly took 3-4 hours to reach at the exact point ,
there are proper tracks for hiking and you can also go off track which is short
cut but little tough. If you want to go publically than take a transport
towards “Gokeena” or you can go Peer Sohawa from where the distance is shorter
but tough one. The other option is get your car or bike, I suggest you bike
because it consumes less fuel as compare to the car. I am sure you going to
love this place in this hot summer condition so, what are you waiting for just
call your friends and visit the precious “Gokeena’s Gluch”.
brother can you tell the directions clearly using google maps?
